Smile Enhancements with Composite
Dr. Bloom creates the Direct Composite Veneer (DVC) using the Free Hand technique —meticulous layering of composite resins. Using a matrix of your smile, he creates the veneer by painting up to twenty layers of composite (varying in hue, value and opacity) that mimic the composition, and soft contours of natural teeth. To assure a gorgeous result, he’ll create the shading of the veneer from the inside out (like natural teeth). The translucent composite layering gives the veneer a luminous and light reflecting quality. We love this solution because it leaves natural teeth intact—non-invasive and biomimetic.
Variations on the Direct Composite Veneer
– The Contact Lens Veneer is the sister to the Direct Composite Veneer. Using the same process, he’ll prep the surface of the natural tooth with Vaseline. Once the DCV is created, he will lift it off to be fired (think porcelain veneer).
– The Milled Composite Veneer is the cousin to the DCV, and an ideal solution for smile enhancement and correcting bite and restorative issues by lengthening and reshaping contours on severely worn teeth. Dr Bloom works with his aesthetic ceramist to create the milled composite restoration.

Dr Bloom (aesthetics master) will strategically re-shape your teeth so your veneered teeth look like yours, except more youthful, bright, and luminescent.
Creating by hand is becoming a lost art—for masters like Dr. Bloom, the old school methods—wax-ups, design by hand, and working on a stone model are essential. The masters know there aren’t any shortcuts when making something beautiful. Digital technologies such as scans, impressions and CEREC same day crowns are crowd-pleasers but fall short on the beauty and accuracy meters. Like Master Glass Sculptor, Dale Chihuly, using ancient glass blowing methods, Dr Bloom designs your smile make-over using old school methods, working on a model that simulates the bite and customizing the shaping of teeth by hand.
We only partner with world-class ceramists. Together, we’ll create porcelain veneers that are beyond beautiful, life-like and naturally reflective (as natural teeth). Photography. This is an essential part of the process. David will shoot your smile from every angle then he’ll use a Polar-Eyes-a special filter for his camera (eliminates any reflection) from the lights. This is for shade match, so when we send all this info to Josh, he has the most accurate information for his creative process.

In your consultation, we encourage you to bring in photos. Many bring in photos of when they were younger. Dr Bloom wants to see what you think is beautiful and what you’d like him to recreate. Everything matters, even the smallest detail.
